Wiki Orphan: The First Platform of its Kind in Orphan Care
The project to establish the Wiki Yetim (Wiki Orphan) platform was launched with the sponsorship and support of the Sheikh Abdullah Nouri Charity, the official sponsor of the Wiki Yetim platform.
Given the abundance of studies, research, and books in the field of child and orphan care in English, available on various electronic and library platforms, and the scarce amount in Arabic, this content is distributed across many sites according to its type. As a result, there is no single specialized and comprehensive place for all the knowledgeable and useful content related to orphan care. This is where the idea for the Wiki Yetim platform came from – to gather all this content in one place, organizing and categorizing it to facilitate searching for various topics related to orphan care at all levels, including health, education, rights, legal, administrative, and much more.
Thus, the platform becomes the first of its kind globally to offer this type of content specific to orphan care, in Arabic, English, and Turkish languages.
The platform strives to collect scientific materials about orphan care, enabling various groups concerned with orphan care and stakeholders in this field to benefit from this platform and its content. This includes orphan mothers, their relatives and extended families, caregivers, field workers, supervisors of their care, as well as associations, institutions sponsoring them, and parties supporting orphan care, both individuals and institutions.
